Obituary-Thresia M Peschong passed away on Saturday evening, October 27, 1979, at the Howard Good Samaritan Center following a stroke which she had suffered earlier on September 4, 1979, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 25 days. Thresia Mary Miller was born in St Mary's Warren county, Iowa on November 2, 1893, the fourth child of Valentine C and Anna Schulte Miller. At the age of 16, in 1910, she emigrated, with her family, from Iowa to Miner county, South Dakota. On May 21, 1919 she was united in marriage to John Ferdinand Peschong. To this union nine children were born, Richard J of San Francisco; Helen M (Schneiderhan) of Shertz, TX; Leon J of Mitchell, SD; Rita A (Mills) of Huron, SD; Carol J (Rockwell) of Fridley, MN; Thomas H of San Rafael, CA; Donna J (Robbins) of San Francisco, CA; James C of Fargo, ND and Alan P of Denver, CO. In addition to her children she also leaves to mourn her passing 31 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as two brothers, Frank and Herman Miller of Howard. She was preceeded in death by her husband, John Ferdinand Peschong, in 1963, her parents, V.C. and Anna Schulte Miller, one sister, Mary (Breuer) and six brothers, John B, Joseph M, Otto W, Martin M, George B and Henry J. Thresia was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and took an active interest in the Civic League. She was a life long member of the Catholic church and served as president of the Woman's Guild, of that church, for a number of years. Funeral services were held at St Agatha Catholic church on Wednesday, October 31, 1979 with Father Henry Sikkes officiating and Msgr H.P. Kolbeck delivering the eulogy. Gerald Miller read the scriptural passages and two of her grandsons, Anthony Peschong and Todd Mills, as well as a grand nephew, Joseph Miller, were altar boys. Interment was at St Joseph cemetery under the direction of the Willoughby Funeral home. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Stephen, Michael and James Peschong, David Mills, Bradley and Jon Peschong, and Patrick and Gregory Peschong.
