Leslie B. Overman, 75, of 8034 Suncrest Drive died of leukemia Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Dunn’s Funeral Home, with burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Dallas Center.
Mr. Overman was born in Waukee and lived in Des Moines since 1967. He was a retired custodial engineer for the Des Moines public schools and also had worked for Ankeny Funeral Home and was a member of the “Jamaica Corn Kings” Dixieland Band.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Soda of Des Moines; two sons, Bill of Earlham and Bob of Omaha; a brother LeRoy of Rippey; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a vigil service will be held at 6 p.m.
