John N. Weil, of 1409 Clark Street, (Bishop Drumm Care Center) Des Moines, died on October 30, 1977 at his home at the age of 82 years. He was born at Waukee, Iowa on December 1, 1894 and had lived in Des Moines for the past 15 years. Prior to this he was a well known farmer in the Waukee area.
Funeral services were held on November 2, 1977 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, in Waukee, with Father John Clarke in charge. Burial was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Dallas Center.
Pall bearers included Michael Weil, Jim Weil, John Allen, Stanley Allen, Bill Overman and Bob Overman.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter. He is survived by children, Joe, of Des Moines; Mrs. Dorothy Allen, of Waterloo; Leo, of Adel; Francis, of Waukee; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Brothers and sister surviving include Sister Mary Rose of the Bishop Drum Home and Frank, of Plainview, Texas.
