Helen Deakins, 79 of Waukee died of heart ailment Saturday at USA Healthcare in Urbandale.

Mrs. Deakins was born in Farnam, NE and had lived in the Des Moines area all of her life. She was a homemaker. She is survived by six daughters, Shirley Charles of West Des Moines, Sherry Forrest of Urbandale, Carmen Miller of Jacksonville, FL, Connie Pond of Raleigh, NC, Vickie Weeks of Des Moines and Mary Weil of Waukee; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grand children.
