Margaret “Peggy” Barker, 59, of Winterset died of cancer Friday at Madison County Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Barker was born in Warren County and lived in Des Moines before moving to Winterset 27 years ago. She was a home health Aide with Madison County Home Health Care.

Surviving are her husband, Richard; four sons, Richard and Joseph, both of Winterset; James of St. Louis, Mo; and Daniel of Patterson; a daughter, Julie Barker of Winterset; her mother, Anna King of St Charles; four brothers, Leo King and Tom King, both of Winterset, Patrick King of Prole and Gerald King of Lorimor; eight sisters, Luella Fairholm, Nancy Stephenson, Rita Drysdale and Juanita Beeler, all of Winterset, Carolyn Rothfus and Kathleen Churchill, both of Carlisle, Dorothy Wedemeyer of St. Charles and Barbara Birdsell of Buckeye, AZ and a grandchild.
