John E. "Curley" Goldhorn, 94, Castlewood, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at a Watertown care center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2002, at First Presbyterian Church in Castlewood, with the Rev. Terry Drew officiating. Music will be provided by Lesa Dahl, organist, and Anne Goldhorn, soloist. The family is asked to meet at the church by 1:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Visitation will be today (Saturday) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sogn-Messer Funeral Home and at the church prior to the service on Sunday.
Interment will be in the Castlewood Cemetery. Casketbearers will be his grandchildren, Brad, Corey and Anne Goldhorn, John and Julie Riese, and Mike and Janelle Jablonski.
John E. Goldhorn, son of Eilert J. and Kate (Peters) Goldhorn, was born December 15, 1907, on a farm near Dempster.
He married Lois Ching at Castlewood on January 22, 1938.
Survivors include his wife, Lois of Castlewood; one son, Don and his wife Jan Goldhorn of Guam; one daughter, Phyllis and her husband Don Osborn of Grand Island, Neb.; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Rose of Castlewood, and Min Wilson of Santa Ana, Calif.; and one brother, the Rev. Alvin Goldhorn and his wife Vera of Cherokee, Iowa.
