Obituary
Obituary-This community was greatly saddened last Friday, November 23rd when word was passed about that Mrs Nick Breuer had passed away that day at St Joseph Hospital in Mitchell, where she had been taken about a week before in hopes that the hospital treatment might benefit her health which had been very poor for the past five months or more. She had been very ill last summer following the birth of a baby daughter and for several weeks following, her life hung in the balance but for the past few months she seemed to be gaining slowly until the past three weeks when she began to fail rapidly and death finally relieved her suffering. This death is particularly sad as a five month old baby besides three other young children are left motherless.
Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at the Catholic church in Howard where Father Veeser conducted Requiem High Mass for this sad occasion. Pallbearers were six brothers of the deceased, John, Joe, Martin, Herman, George and Otto Otto Miller. The funeral was under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Service. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery in this city.
Mary Miller, daughter of Mr & Mrs V.C. Miller was born at St Mary's, IA on September 11, 1897 and departed from this life at St Joseph Hospital in Mitchell, SD on November 23, 1934 at the age of 37 years, 2 months and 12 days. She was united ited in marriage to N.C. Breuer on September 8, 1920. To this union four children were born who with the husband are left ot mourn her loss. The children are Robert, age 12, Vincent 11 years, Mark 7 years and Joan 5 months. These were left along with her parents, Mr & Mrs V.C. Miller and one sister, Thresia Peschong and eight brothers, Martin and Joe of Howard, Herman, Frank, Otto of Roswell, George of Winfred, John B of Polo and Henry J of Sioux Falls. The large gathering of sorrowing relatives and friends at the last rites over the remains were held in the community where she had spent the greater part of her life and a line of cars that extended from church nearly to the cemetery on the east side of town followed the remains to her last resting place. To the grief stricken family goes out the deepest sympathy of the entire community in this their time of great sorrow.
