Her funeral service will be at 2:30 PM Thursday, December 21, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Rinearson and Pastor Derek Baum officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday morning at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Thursday afternoon. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home with the family present from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Deanna Kay Kelley was born on December 18, 1953, to Marvin and Arlene “Tiny” (Hein) Kelley at Huron, SD. She grew up in rural Yale and attended elementary school in Yale and graduated from Iroquois High School in 1972.

On December 18, 1971, Deanna was married to William Eining, Jr. They lived in Iroquois until moving to Huron in 1977. They were divorced in August of 1987.

Deanna worked as a secretary at Huron College for 1 year; maintenance at the Federal Building for 1 year; and as a bookkeeper for the South Dakota Wheat Growers for 1 and-a-half years. In 1981 she began working for the U.S. Post Office, transferring to Dakota Central Station in Huron where she was the supervisor until 1996. She began working for Marvin Kelley Insurance 1990 and owned the insurance agency from 1992 until the present. She also was the manager of Kelley’s Rental Farms. During her entire work history she also farmed with her dad until 1993.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the “Church Ladies” Bible Study Group, the Huron Country Club, and the South Dakota Independent Insurance Agents.

Her many interests included shopping, reading, gardening, traveling, playing cards and games, and golfing. Deanna enjoyed being a “jokester” as evidenced in the many “gag” gifts that she sent to family and friends. Her true happiness, however, was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by 1 son, William (Dawn) Eining III of Huron; 1 daughter, Sherry Eining of Huron; 5 grandchildren, Kenny, Nikalus, Jordan, Ashton, and Jasmine; her father, Marvin (Ruth) Kelley of Yale, SD; 2 brothers, Daniel (Leah) Kelley of Torrington, WY, and Gary Kelley of Denver, CO; 1 sister, Nicole (Drew) Weber of Sioux Falls; 1 step-sister, Linda (Bret) Spencer of Tabor, SD; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. (Her mother, Arlene “Tiny” Kelley, died the day after Deanna's death.)

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Kathy Kelley, and Sonya Kelley; and her special friend, Tom Mueller.
