OBITUARY-Evelyn D Johnson, 80, formerly of Lake Andes, died Wednesday, Oct 10, in Brady Nursing Home, Mitchell.
Evelyn Novotny was born March 24, 1910, in Lake Andes, and attended rural schools. She married Steve Johnson in Lake Andes in 1933.
She was treasurer for Charles Mix County for more than 20 years, retiring in 1975.
Her husband died in June 1978.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs Robert (Bernice) Brooks, Mitchell; Mrs Bill (Shirley) Eck, Seattle, WA; and Mrs Hugh (Charlotte Hall, Sacramento, CA; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank and Pete Novotny, both of Lake Andes; and one sister, Veronica Mumm, Nidvale, Utah.
Services will begin at 10 am Friday in St Mark's Catholic Church, Lake Andes. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 5.30 this afternoon in Stedronsky-Wiese Funeral Home, Lake Andes. A rosary will be said at 7.30 tonight in the church.
