Obituary
Wilbert J. Dittmer, 77, of Stuart died of cancer Wednesday at Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 10:30 am today at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Panora, of which he was a member. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Dallas Center.
Mr. Dittmer was born in Lacona and had lived in Stuart since 1968. He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion.
Among survivors are his wife, Leona; a son, Ronald of Des Moines; four daughters, Rose Dittmer and Anita Dittmer-Purcell, both of Des Moines, Phyllis Dittmer of Council Bluffs and Diana Dittmer of Phoenix; two brothers, Marcus of Marshalltown and Lawrence of Adel; and three sisters, Rite Ceasar of Laurel, Colleen Jensen of Cedar Rapids and Ann Forret of Milwaukee.
