Mary Matilda Weil was the daughter of Joseph M and Mary (Miller) Weil. She was born 6 January 1902, on the family farm at Waukee and passed away at the young age of 29, on 8 January 1931.

She attended Catholic High School in Churchville. She then stayed with her sister, Mrs. Anna McKinney and finished high school at St. Joseph Academy in Des Moines. She joined the Sisters of Mercy at Council Bluffs about the year 1921. She was assigned to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, where she assisted the supervisor in the surgical suite. Sister Mary Thomas Wilson, which consisted of 3 major operating rooms. A total of 1525 patients came under the cae of the surgical staff during 1930. May her soul, and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
