Scotland - Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa F. "Tracy" Soukup of Scotland, South Dakota will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at St. George Catholic Church in Scotland with Frs. David Stevens and Charles Duman con-celebrating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Goglin-Kelley Funeral Chapel in Scotland. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the church, also on Tuesday. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Scotland.

Casketbearers will be Mike Soukup, Don Soukup, Gary Soukup, Jim Soukup, Jason Soukup, Chad Soukup and Chris Soukup.

Theresa Soukup was born September 5, 1908 in Butte, Nebraska to Herman and Anna (Berning) Schulte. As a child, she moved with her family to the Yankton area. Theresa was united in marriage to William "Bill" Soukup on November 19, 1935 in Yankton. Following their marriage, the couple lived in the Yankton area until moving to Scotland in 1941. Tracy was a homemaker while she raised and cared for her family. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and time spent with her family. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Friendship Extension Club, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Neighborhood Sewing Club. Tracy died on Saturday, April 12, 2003 at the Scotland Good Samaritan Center at the age of 94 years.

Grateful for having shared Tracy's life are her sons: Richard (JoAnn) Soukup of Scotland; Carl (Marietta) Soukup of Sioux Falls; Howard (Sharon) Soukup of Harrisburg; her daughter, Helen (Pete) Manke of Sioux Falls; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Theresa was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Rose, seven brothers and a sister.
