COUPLE WED IN CEREMONY AT NEW YORK CITY CHURCH
Kristi Lee Jenkins and Kurt Michaelson were joined as one in Christ at 3 pm Aug 22, 2009 at Times Square Church in New York City, NY.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas Jenkins of Alamorgodo, NM and Susan Buchwald of Herington, KS.
The groom is the son of Peter Michaelson of Poughkeepsie, NY and Cynthia Quigley of Murrieta, CA.
The bride, given in marriage by her father and mother, wore a strapless satin ball gown, with beaded bodice and train. Her veil was elbow length and borrowed from her sister. She carried a bouquet of red roses, with pearl inserts.
Sister of the bride, Dawn Friesen of Herington, KS, served as matron of honor. She wore a strapless full-length gown, with bead accents, in a plum color. She carried a bouquet of pink, lavender and cream roses.
Friend of the bride, Corey (Scherbring) Sader of Salina, KS, formerly of Herington, served as maid of honor and wore a strapless full-length plum colored gown, with bead accents. She carried a bouquet of pink, lavender and cream roses.
The groom wore a two-piece gray suit, with a white shirt and silver tie. His boutonniere consisted of two red roses, with pearl inserts matching the bride’s bouquet.
Brother of the groom Karl Michaelson of Concord, NC served as best man. He wore a two-piece gray suit, with white shirt and plum colored tie. Friend of the groom, Tim Seibert of Danbury, CN was unable to serve as second best man, due to illness.
Uncle of the bride, Thomas Christensen of Herington, KS served as usher.
Jamie (McDiffett) Szkoda of West Hartford, CN, formerly of Herington, KS was the bride’s personal attendant.
Special and honored guest attending the wedding was Mona Quigley of Vista, CA, grandmother of the groom.
A reception followed the ceremony at Anton’s of Westchester in Elmsford, NY.
Bringing Kansas and New York together was the theme for the evening, which included a yellow brick road and ruby red slippers worn by the bride as the couple entered the reception hall.
The couple honeymooned in Aruba, before returning to their home in Danbury, CN.
The bride is employed with Urology Associates of Danbury at Danbury, CN.
The groom is employed part-time at the Home Depot and is a full-time graduate student, pursuing a masters in Divinity at Alliance Theological Seminary and Nyack, NY.
