J Dennis McKinney, 52, of Waukee died Tuesday in a construction accident in West Des Moines.

Mr. McKinney, owner of McKinney Plumbing, lived in Waukee all his life. He is survived by his wife, Velma; five sons, Jamie Trammell of Des Moines and Bob, Daniel, Joseph and Matthew, all of Waukee; four daughters, Rebecca Bartscher of Slater, Kimberly McKinney of Des Moines, Theresa Borcherding of Redfield and Michelle Nizzi of Waukee; four foster children; his mother, Erma McKinney of Waukee; a sister, Sharon DeCamp of Adel; and 11 grandchildren.
