WED IN CALIFORNIA- Mr and Mrs Louis W Derscheid are at home at 19728 Marbel, Downey, California following their marriage Nov 25, in the chapel of the Christian Church, Huntington Park, California. The Rev LuVern Freeman officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride before her marriage was Jeri T Davis, daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Theodore Davis, Huntington Park and the parents of the bridegroom are Mrs Walter Christensen, Albuquerque, NM and Harry Derscheid, Howard SD. Mrs Derscheid is a graduate of Huntington Park High School and is employed by an insurance company there. Derscheid attended Huron College, was graduated from South Dakota State College in 1958 and is employed at Hughes Aircraft, Fullerton, California. He is the grandson of Mrs Mable Derscheid, Osceola, SD.
Obituary
Louis William "Lou" Derscheid of Gautier passed on from this life June 27, 2013.

He was born October 27, 1931 in Yale, South Dakota. Lou served in the United States Air Force then attended South Dakota State University earning a BSEE. He transferred to this area 40 years ago and retired from Litton Data Systems as an electronics engineer. As a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, Lou served in many capacities. He was Bishop of the Pascagoula Ward for 6 years and held many other positions as well. He was very active in the community in numerous organizations. Because of his great love for his country he was an active member of the T.E.A. Party and worked the voting polls for many years. He loved life and enjoyed all sports, especially golf, basketball and dancing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Derscheid; his mother, Lucina Pratt Christensen; his brothers, Eugene and Ronald "Red" Derscheid, and his sister, Leah Derscheid.

He leaves behind his wife, Jeri Derscheid of Gautier, MS; a son., Mark W. Derscheid (Janine) of Charlotte, North Carolina; a daughter, Teri L. McMahon (Dominick) of Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren, Hayley, Jeffrey, Alex and Kyle Derscheid, and Nicole McMahon; sisters, Shirley Miller ( Duane) of South Dakota and Susan Buchwald of Kansas; brothers; Thomas Christensen of Kansas and Duaine Christensen of Tennessee.

Visitation will be Sunday, 5-7pm at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, MS. Funeral Service will be Monday at 2pm with visitation one hour prior to service . Entombment will conclude with military honors at Jackson County Memorial Park. Those who would like may express their condolences online at
