Mr. Ronald "Red" Derscheid, age 75, of Wiggins, MS, died March 20, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Derscheid was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wiggins, MS.
He was a retired member of The United States Air Force, he served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. Mr. Derscheid was a member of the American Legion, DAV and he was an avid fast pitch softball player and fan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Derscheid of Wiggins, MS, son, Mitch Maw of Riverdale, UT, brother, Louis Derscheid of Gautier, MS and sister Shirley Miller of Howard, SD, two grandchildren, Kayden Derscheid and Kyle Peterson of Layton, UT and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry Derscheid and Lucina Pratt, brother, Baby Gene Derscheid and sister Leah Derscheid.
A Memorial Service will be held March 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Wiggins, MS.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service at the church. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 26, 2010 in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to: First United Methodist Church of Wiggins, Telecast Fund 520 E. Pine Ave. Wiggins, MS 39577. Moore Funeral Home Wiggins is in charge of the arrangements.
