Veryle Ione Derscheid, 82, of Howard, South Dakota formerly of Bryant, SD, died Thursday Jan 3, 2002 at the Madison community Hospital, Madison SD.
Veryle Ione Barringer was born Nov 29, 1919 at Huron, SD to Fayette William and Ruth Hazel (Zartman) Barringer. Veryle grew up on a farm near Alpena, SD
Veryle was united in marriage to John Dant in 1938. The couple farmed northeast of Forrestburg, SD until John died in 1959. Veryle was then united in marriage to Harry Derscheid in 1964 and they lived in Howard and Carthage areas before moving into Bryant. Veryle operated a Beauty Shop in Bryant until Harry died in 1990, when she then retired.
Survivors include - two stepsons - Louis Derscheid and Jeri of Gautier, MS; and Ronald Derscheid and wife Linda of Wiggins, MS; one stepdaughter – Shirley Miller and husband Duane of Winfred, SD; 10 step grandchildren; 20 step great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, a half brother Orville Barringer and wife Judy of Canova, SD: two half sisters Ruth Lee and husband Gilbert of CA; and Delores (Dolly) Wallum and husband Joy of Iroquois, SD; and special friends – Barb Garrey and Luella English. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands – John and Harry; and one brother – LuVern Barringer
