Nadine L. Olson, 96, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Salem, passed away on January 12, 2013 at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 17 at 10:30 am at Salem Lutheran Church at Center. Visitation will begin on Wednesday at 9 am with family present from 6-8 pm and a prayer service to be held at 7 pm, all at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem. Nadine Leona Anderson was born on May 3, 1916 in Salem, SD to Herbert and Emelia (Pearson) Anderson. She grew up in the Salem area and graduated from high school there. She married Hjalmar Olson on December 17, 1939 and they farmed near Salem. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church at Center. She loved sports and also enjoyed needlework and baking. Nadine also served as a volunteer at Colonial Manor in Salem and Bethany Lutheran Nursing Home in Sioux Falls for many years. She also served on the Board of Directors at Bethany Lutheran. She is survived by: her children, Allen Olson of Sioux Falls and Ardella (Richard) Huston of Winter Park, CO; one brother, Milton (Betty) Anderson; one sister, Elaine Laufmann; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hjalmar, in 1989; her parents, and one brother, Delbert Anderson.
