Obituary
Obituary-Raymond Sandine, son of Axel and Mary (Anderson) Sandine, was born August 15, 1905 in Alta, Iowa. He came to South Dakota with his family as a child and grew up in the Salem-Canova area. On June 20, 1935, he married Helen Olson at her parents farm. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church at Center and served on the Church Council for many years. Ray was also a member of the Farmers Union, was a former member of the Unityville School Board, was a member of the Salem Lutheran Cemetery Board, was a member of the National Hand Corn Huskers Association, was a member of the McCook Federal Credit Union, of the Salem Senior Citizens, and of the McCook Central Booster Club. Ray died on Thursday, September 2, 1993 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Salem. He had reached the age of 88 years and 18 days.
Survivors include his wife of Salem; three sons, Ronald and his wife Gloria of Salem; Dale and his wife Linnette of Sioux Falls; and Gene of Salem; six grandchildren; one brother, Oliver of Salem; and one sister, Viola Anderson of Canistota. ota. Preceding him were his parents and 2 brothers, Clarence and Leslie.
