Obituary-Yvonne J Miller, 80, formerly of Sioux Falls, died Tuesday at her home in Pierre. Yvonne Billion was born July 22, 1908 in Antwerp, Belgium. As a young child she moved to Sioux Falls where she attended Cathedral grade school and was graduated from Washington High School. She married Henry J Miller on February 9, 1928 in Sioux Falls. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls and maintained a home in Scottsdale, AZ. She moved to Pierre after her husband died in 1978. Mrs Miller was a member and past Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America and a member of Sioux Falls Cathedral Club, St Mary Hospital Auxiliary, St John Alter Society and Sts. Peter and Paul parish. She could speak five languages fluently. Survivors include three sons; Donald, Wichita, SD; Thomas, Scottsdale, AZ and Robert of Pierre, one daughter, Mary Jo Askew, Pierre; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry, Sioux Falls and one sister, Sister Henrice Billion, Burbank, IL.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in Sts Peter and Paul Catholic church in Pierre. Burial will be in St Francis cemetery, Scottsdale, AZ. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today with a wake service at 7.30 tonight in the the Hofmeister Funeral Home.
