August Carl Stromberg, the only son of Carl and Marie Dinslage Stromberg was born March 23, 1941 on a farm southwest of Albion, Nebraska. August has been known as Augie or Oscar by freinds and family.
When August was about four years old the family moved to a farm about four miles west of Albion. He attended school at District #13 rural school and attended high school at Albion Public Schools.
August started his career in farming at his father's side as a small boy, and was active in 4-H with his cattle.
In the early 60's the family moved to an acreage at the west edge of Albion, but continued farming larger tracts of land west and south of Albion.
August was married January 18, 1974 at Albion to Susan Clark of Omaha, Nebraska. To this union were born two children, Kevin Karl born November 5, 1974 and Jennifer Jo born September 25, 1976. The marriage ended in divorce in 1982, with Kevin living with his dad and Jennifer living with her mother.
In 1982 both of August's parents passed away, Carl on May 30, 1982 and Marie on June 24, 1982.
August continued farming and taking care of Kevin. In the summer of 1984 August met Patricia Ann Wagner. Patricia was born December 3, 1951 at Fullerton, Nebraska, the eldest daugthter of Elvin C and Ellen M Cox Wagner.
Patricia attended school at District #14 rural school in Nance county and high school at Fullerton, Nebraska as well as business school in Grand Island, Nebraska.
August and Patricia were married February 14, 1987 at Belgrade, Nebraska; and make their home in Albion, Nebraska with their children Kevin and Jennifer.
August works for the City of Albion and continues to farm. Patricia works for the Merrick County Sheriff's office in Central City, Nebraska; and both operate a concession stand at the ball park in the summer. Kevin and Jennifer are active teenagers involved in school, church and other assorted teenage activities.
August enjoys spending time fishing, Patricia enjoys her hobbies of reading and genealogy. Kevin is employed part time at the local grocery store and enjoys singing. Jennifer has a paper route and enjoys many sports activities.
