Obituary
An Emporia resident who lived most of her life in Olpe, Mrs Paul Miller, 607 East South Avenue died today, February 16, at St Mary Hospital. She and her late husband farmed for many years near Olpe and she was a cook at St Joseph School from 1947 to 1960. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church, Rosary Altar Society, St Ann's Altar Society, the Flying Needles and the Madonna Discussion Club. A Resurrection Mass will be said Thursday at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart chruch with the Rev Leroy Wendling, OFM as celebrant. Burial will be in St Joseph cemetery at Olpe.
Anna Boerner, daughter of Casper and Anna Naber Boerner, was born in Utica, Nebraska on March 28, 1895. She married Paul Miller on February 19, 1924 at St Peter church near Fleming, CO. Mr Miller died October 2, 1964. Mrs Miller also was preceded in death by one son, Donald Miller; four brothers, Henry, Edward, Frederich and John Boerner and four sisters, Clara Nuessen, Margaret Wernsman, Katherine and Mary Boerner. Survivors include one son, Dale Miller, 607 East South Avenue, one daughter, Ruth Albin, 810 Union Street, one brother, Charley Boerner, Sterling, CO, three sisters, Sophia, Elizabeth and Bertha Boerner of Sterling and two grandsons, Bill and Bob Albin.
