Obituary
Edward S. Miller, 89, Mitchell, died Monday, June 30, 2014 at Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. He was born May 2, 1925 at Tyndall, SD to Maximillion and Martha (Schulte) Miller. He grew up and attended schools at Tyndall and Woonsocket. He was proud to receive his High School Diploma in 2002. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, receiving the Korean War Service medal with two bronze stars and occupation medal. On February 4, 1956 he married Vera Feistner in Woonsocket. Edward was a farmer, mechanic and motel manager. He was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in Plankinton and then Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. He was a life member of VFW Post 6554 in Plankinton and VFW Post 2750 in Mitchell and life member of the DAV Post 7 in Mitchell. Edward loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Vera, one daughter, Colleen (Richard) Foland, Plankinton; five sons: Clyde (Gail) Miller, Black Hawk; Claude Miller, Letcher; Curtis Miller, Denver, CO; Charles (Mary) Miller, North Glenn, CO; and Randy (Karen) Munk, Hermosa; two brothers: Lawrence Miller, Woonsocket; Albert Miller, Wellington, KS; brothers and sisters-in-law: Carol Miller, Hutchinson, KS; June Brewick, Mitchell; Leonard (LouAnn) Feistner, Madison; Wayne Feistner, Woonsocket; Gloria Doohen, Sioux Falls and Marla Feistner, Woonsocket;15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Julius and Elsie Feistner, brothers, Joe and Paul Miller, sisters-in-law: Marie and Anna Miller, Donna Feistner, Fern Levtzow, brothers-in-law: Darrel Feistner, Wayne Brewick and Richard Levtzow.
