YANKTON-Thecla A. Schulte, 97, died Tuesday, Aug 18, 1998, at Sister James Nursing Home, Yankton.
Thecla Mudloff was born Sept. 17, 1901, in Bon Homme County northeast of Tabor. She grew up on the family farm southeast of Lesterville, where she attended school.
She married Joseph E. Schulte on Feb 10, 1931, in Lesteville. They farmed along the James River north of Yankton for 31 years, when they retired and moved to Yankton. Her husband died in 1985. She became a resident of Sister James Nursing Home in May 1993.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton and the Altar Society.
Survivors include one daughter, Florence Hill of Vermillion; one son, Don, Cape Girardeau, Mo.; five grandchildren; four great-grand children; and two sisters: Clara Vyborny and Elizabeth Sternhagen, both of Tabor.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yankton, with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Kostel Funeral Home, Yankton, with a rosary at 7 followed by a scripture service at 7:30
